I've used a lot of different brainwave entrainment products and meditation devices over the years, and I've really witnessed the evolution of quality along the way.
Some of the programs I was using back in the '90s sound so dated now, and I chuckle when I think about some of the awful sounding machines and audios I put myself through in search of “brain hacking”.
It has been fun though, and certainly rewarding because I've been able to share my knowledge on here, with you guys and gals.
It's great that in the present day there are so many great products – from audios to wearables – and none more pleasant to listen to than my favorite brand, Binaural Beats Meditation.
I make no apologies for not hiding my fondness of this company, and if you follow me you'll know I regularly recommend their products.
So after all these years, I'm finally getting around to doing a review of this store, and it will be a positive one :).
About the Company
This store has been online since 2010. They coined and branded the term Binaural Beats Meditation, due to the soothing nature of the music. Though you'll see others piggy-backing off their name, particularly on YouTube.
The store started with a mere 8 products and now has around 45 in total.
The products are mainly binaural beats programs but they also have a range of subliminal messaging programs, which began being introduced in 2018.
The programs are made in house, at the company's studio, which has ensured a consistent quality and the development of a signature sound: Some stores have numerous contributors who come and go, and this can mean great variance in quality and style, which often makes the audios hit and miss.
They are very focussed on the science side of music healing and provide a lot of information to support efficacy, which can be found under the science and key benefits pages, and also on their blog. This is refreshing, as there's a lot of outlandish claims out there!
One of the most appealing things about the company is the customer service. Despite becoming pretty popular over the years, they haven't outsourced the customer care and still personally reply to emails.
This might not seem like a huge deal, but one thing that frustrates me about a lot of web stores is when you get an automated reply to an enquiry along with a ticket number. This immediately lets you know that you've been placed in a queue system, and quite often it takes a while to get your question answered or technical issue sorted.
The Products
Binaural Beats
Historically, brainwave audio products weren't very pleasant to listen to. Some people don't mind listening to raw tones under generic rain sounds or cheesy spa-like music, but for me, the whole point of listening to something is because it engages you, not repels you.
I also believe that sound therapy is a lot more effective if you actually enjoy what you are hearing. It makes sense, right?
Binaural Beats Meditation revolutionized the industry in that regard, because they really focus on sound design. They produce tracks that harmoniously integrate the sound frequencies with a soothing music overlay.
This means that the frequency track isn't dissonant or overbearing. It generally feels as though you're listening to relaxing music.
On some programs, the binaural beats frequency track is more prominent that others, but it's never invasive or off-putting, which historically has been a factor in some people not taking well to this type of sound therapy.
Each composition is unique, too, so you never feel as though you're listening to the same track twice. A lot of effort is put into the sound design, which is why I often find myself listening without headphones and just for the calming properties of the music.
Music Tuning
That leads me onto my next point. The music overlay (the instrumentation) is tuned in a special way.
They don't used conventional music tuning. They use something called the solfeggio scale. This is also known as the ‘ancient scale' and makes use of different tones/frequencies than standard music tuning.
This scale was widely used as far back as the 11th century but began to be replaced in the 16 century for the standard we use today.
I won't go into it too much here, but there's a lot of theory as to why this tuning has positive benefits on mind and body.
In short, not only do you benefit from the binaural beats frequencies but also the purported healing properties of the music.
Subliminal Messaging
As I noted earlier on, Binaural Beats Meditation has a subliminal messaging range.
This is clearly labeled and has its own section on the site, so for those who don't want these affirmations embedded in the music, it's easy enough to avoid.
Subliminal messaging can't be heard because the recorded voice is filtered above the threshold of human hearing. However, it is still received by the subconscious mind and therefore able to change behaviors at a subconscious level.
These audios still have the binaural beats frequencies underneath the track, too. And with these programs you will also receive a spoken affirmations version, which is a nice addition because it gives you an alternative version to rotate into your listening schedule – plus it's nice to actually hear the voice!

Choosing Your Programs
I'm sure you know how to buy stuff online, I'm not trying to patronizing here :), but these pointers might be helpful.
Each product page has an audio player at the top – easily missed – that you can use to listen to a 1-minute sample of the track. The sample is broadly representative of the composition, but do consider that the audios are 30+ minutes long, so a 1-minute sample is meant to give you a general feel, not the entire picture.
That said, meditation music audios tend not to have many drastic changes, so there's unlikely to be any unwanted surprises when listening to the whole thing.
The store page displays all the products they sell in one big list. But if you look to the right (on desktop/laptop, or at the bottom of the page on mobile) you will see categories.
You can shop by category or brain state, as follows:
My Favorite Programs
I have pretty much every track in the catalogue. A few I have purchased for my brother and mom but mostly they are for me.
It's hard to say which are my favorites, but if it helps you get started then these are some of my staple go-to tracks:
- Earth Vibration
- Alpha Waves
- Theta Rain
- Zen Focus
- Delta Bliss
- Abundance Meditation (subliminal)
- Deep Sleep
- Positive Thinking (subliminal)

Pricing & Value
Standard binaural beats tracks are priced at $9.95, and the subliminal programs at $14.99. That being said, there's pretty much always a deal on that offers a 20% or so discount. Generally you'll pick up single products for around $8.
Their flagship product is the Mega Meditation Pack, which gives you 12 audios for $59.99 (usually less with the discount). You can choose 12 of your own products instead if you like, and when you hit 12 the discount will be added in the cart.
Each program comes with two versions as standard: a 30-minute and a 60-minute version. The subliminal audios have two additional versions: an audible affirmations version, and a 2-hour subliminal (silent) version.
How to Download Your Audio Programs
Binaural Beats Meditation does not sell CDs. They used to have a service where you could request a CD and they'd burn it and post it out. This was some years ago, though, and they have since stopped it.
If you have a CD burner on your computer you can always create your own once you have downloaded your files.
When you place your order, you will automatically receive an order confirmation email. This email contains your download links. When you click a link, you will be prompted to download the file to your computer. Once download, you can share the file among your personal devices.
Alternatively, you will receive a password to login to your account on the website. Your account contains your order history and can be logged into at any time to download your orders. So don't worry about losing the order email or your files at any time in the future because you'll always be able to retrieve them.
All files are provided in .mp3 format (320 KBPS quality). This means the files will be compatible with any device you have, be that computer, tablet, or phone.
iOS Devices
If you're on iOS – iPhone or iPad – it is easiest to download the files to your computer first. Next, plugin your device to your computer using the USB cable to transfer them over.
You can drag and drop the files into iTunes on your computer and then transfer them to your device within the iTunes program.
You can download the audios to your iPhone or iPad directly, but you'll need to use an app like the Aloha app, which they recommend and have a user guide for.
I have an iPhone and this is what I do. That is until Apple get rid of the silly restriction that doesn't let you download an audio file to your phone directly without an app!
How to Listen & Get the Most Benefit
This is a fairly general question that comes up pretty often from my readers. There's plenty of info around the site on this, but in a nutshell, you just need headphones.
You should also do what's conducive to the outcome you're trying to achieve.
For example, if you're listening to a track for relaxation, it's pointless running on the treadmill at the same time. I mean, you could, but it's counterintuitive.
Pick a program to listen to based on your intended outcome.
For example: if I'm struggling to get into the concentration zone while I'm working on my computer, I will put on Zen Focus. If I'm feeling a little blue and unsure why, I'll put on Happiness Meditation.
It's pretty straight-forward really.
Pick a listening routine to begin with; say 3-4 audio sessions per day based around your desired outcomes. Space these out through the day as and listen when applicable. Stick with a routine for a week or two before swapping new audios in and out.
You'll soon have your favorites and naturally you'll tend to listen to these daily or at specific times when you want to get into a certain mindset.
Entrainment does last post listening, but this is a natural therapy that results in cumulative effects.
For example: if you become anxious before social interactions, by listening to Anxiety Release before the event, your brain will eventually develop a habitual behavior, whereby over time your brain no longer feels as anxious before such situations.
It doesn't mean that it's a permanent solution, as we can be affected by other circumstances in life that create new behaviors or trigger old ones. So you can use the audios as and when you feel you need them.
In Summary
Binaural Beats Meditation is my favorite store to pick up new brainwave entrainment audios, and I'm sure you'll love it too.
The quality is unrivaled and the products are competitively priced, and actually cheaper in most cases.
The only downside I can think of is that for people who want just raw (naked) tones without a music overlay, they don't currently provide sell these.
There's not much more to say other than there's a free audio you can download if you navigate to the menu bar on the homepage.

I was asking if you knew of an MP3 on feeling free. I see Centerpointe is offering “Fearless and Free” as a bonus for their new Complete Confidence suite.
Navalny was no doubt freer than someone held captive by their own delusions. From an intellectual standpoint I realize we are all one and cannot be harmed in any way, I just don’t KNOW this on all levels–yet!
Thank you!

Hi Katherine,
There is Overcome Fear of Failure, which has subliminal affirmations: https://www.binauralbeatsmeditation.com/product/fear-of-failure/
You might also try Earth Vibration, Sanctuary of Peace, Mindfulness Meditation or others in their Theta range, many of which are designed around soul-liberating themes.
